The Stormy Legend

2 oz. dark rum
4 oz. ginger beer
1/2 oz. lime juice
1/2 oz. spiced syrup
Put all in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Pour over fresh ice cubes in a Collins glass, garnish with lime or lemon, and mint.
Spiced Syrup
1 c. honey
8 oz. brown sugar
1 t. cardamom
1 t. allspice
2 oz. fresh ginger minced
20 oz. water
Simmer for 15 minutes, cool and strain into tincture bottles
