For The Batter

  • ¼ Cup Cake Flour
  • ½ Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 ½ tsp Baking Powder
  • 2 tbs Cocoa Powder
  • ¼ Cup Granulated Sugar for batter, 1/4 Cup to roll doughnut holes in
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tbs + 1 tsp Red Dye
  • 2 Cups Neutral Oil


In a pot, heat oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. About 2 inches worth of oil will be needed.
While oil is heating, mix together both types flours, baking powder, cocoa powder, 1/4 cup sugar, and salt in medium size bowl. In a separate bowl combine eggs, vanilla extract, and red dye. Once combined, pour egg mixture into dry mixture, stirring to combine well.  Using a small cookie scoop, carefully drop doughnut batter in oil and deep fry in oil for 4-5 minutes.

After 5 minutes remove doughnuts from oil onto a paper towel. Slightly roll back and forth to remove excess oil. Toss or roll in reserved granulated sugar. 


Cream Cheese Icing

  • 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tbs Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 tbs Milk


In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients together, add more milk for a thinner consistency. Plate your doughnuts and drizzle the cream cheese icing over prior to serving.
