The Burritt Room + Tavern, tucked into The Mystic Hotel, is under the influence of film noir. Named for Burritt Alley, where detective Sam Spade's partner Miles Archer was gunned down in 1941 classic hardboiled crime film The Maltese Falcon, the distinctive atmospheric vibe shows up in the handcrafted cocktails as well as tavern’s walled-in and curtained booths that create dark corners for private conversation.
Executive Chef Lucas Knox, a graduate from Le Cordon Bleu in Portland, Oregon, brings the wide variety of modern techniques he refined at Aureole Las Vegas coupled with a renewed approach to the modern American tavern menu. Enhancing flavor profiles by using the freshest product Northern California has to offer, the chef offers standouts like Teres Major with sautéed collard greens, piquillo peppers, sweet onion rings, and Salmon Tartare with grapefruit, pickled kohlrabi, toasted almonds, grated egg whites, egg yolk emulsion.
