Featured Varietal for Thursday April 17:
Semillon: Brokenwood, Hunter Valley, Australia
The Semillon grape is found in a number of growing regions throughout the world. It has gained notoriety for its use in Sauternes and Bordeaux Blanc, as well as its unique style in Hunter Valley, Australia. This otherwise heavy and oily grape, is dry, and crisp with citrus notes likening it to a new world.
Brokenwood Semillon is a classic example of Hunter Valley Semillon. It possesses notes of lemongrass, straw, lime, and apple blossoms. It has a crisp, acid driven palate that finishes clean and bright.
A $39 bottle nicely compliments our Fukuo Bay Hamachi Crudo, Grilled Spanish Octopus Salad, and Roasted Ora King Salmon.
